{Review} Forbidden Fruit (Under Mr. Nolan's Bed) by Selena Kitt

{Review} Forbidden Fruit (Under Mr. Nolan's Bed) by Selena Kitt
Goodreads Description:
Leah and Erica have been best friends and have gone to the same Catholic school since just about forever. Leah spends so much time with the Nolans—just Erica and her handsome father now, since Erica’s mother died—that she’s practically part of the family. When the girls find something naughty under Mr. Nolan’s bed, their strict, repressive upbringing makes it all the more exciting as they begin their sexual experimentation. Leah’s exploration presses deeper, and eventually she finds herself in love for the first time, torn between her best friend and her best friend’s father.
Warnings: This title contains erotic situations, lesbian sex, sex toys, and also makes mention of pornography, salmon, amusement parks, chocolate covered strawberries, brownies (as well as girl scouts), plaid skirts, naughty uses for confessionals and some sacrilegious humor.
Note to readers: This story appeared in another, now rather infamous book of mine (UNDER MR. NOLAN'S BED). Previously titled Plaid Skirt Confessions, this tale is a slightly less naughty, but no less sexy re-telling of those events--updated and redressed for your reading pleasure with an ending that may leave you a little more satisfied.
**WARNING: PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT BELOW I HAVE SPOILERS AND THIS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. MUST BE 18!!! I'M SERIOUS FOLKS.....THIS IS......BAD**

Why did I read this? Why oh why?
First of all I actually picked this up because it was free. You see, me and my bestie April at Sim Sational Books love to read corny sex books and kind of make fun of them. That's what we thought this was and hell it was free so why not?

What did I think?
I honestly have no idea where to even begin with this book. I just finished this thing last night and I am still flustered and creeped out. I've never been this creeped out by a book before.
Let me start off with the good points (there aren't very many btw)... I will say that some of the sex scenes were good. Probably some of the best ones I've read. I'm not much for girl on girl action. So if you're into that, this book has quite a bit.
I think that's the only good thing about this book.
Now with the bad points....
I read this book with my best friend and we both felt the same on certain points. Now these girls are supposed to be 20 years old. I understand that sometimes you can have a sheltered girl but seriously the dialogue that is in this was like a 13 year old and it made it more creepy
"They made me feel....funny..." I explained, blushing. "Down there... and I could help touching myself."
"Down there"? Seriously? You. Are. 20! Not 12. Speak like an adult please. That was part of the most annoying. I've never met a 20 year old as sheltered as these girls. It was quite irritating. I didn't understand how that would be attractive.
I get the whole "I have a crush on your dad" thing. I kind of do and the fact still remains that she is 20 so she's legal. It's the whole "taboo" thing that attracts readers. I do understand to a a point. Like if you're just meeting this girl's father for the first time and he's drop dead gorgeous (although she never really goes into what Mr. Nolan looks like. Probably just leaving it up to your imagination and just giving you the whole "older man" image). Not the fact that he's known you since you were really little. That's just plain gross. He should be at least seeing her as his own daughter for the most part. Ewe.

I will reiterate that the sex scenes between Leah and Mr. Nolan are pretty damn hot. I've read other eroticas and the scenes in those were pretty over the top. This was still a bit over the top but not too much.

Now, another thing that bothered me was that Leah feels like it's a sin for her and Mr. Nolan to be together (They go to a Catholic college) so she goes to confession. I had a problem with the Father jacking it in the confessional while she's re-telling the story of her and Erica and Mr. Nolan. All the while she's doing the same thing. She doesn't even understand what he's doing. Really? Come on....

Ok....so there are some other points that are pretty stupid and ridiculous but the part I seriously had a problem with is that Leah has sex with Mr. Nolan while Erica is in the same room. A hotel room. After she has sex with Mr. Nolan, she goes and does it with Erica while Mr. Nolan is asleep in the next bed. All the while Leah is doing things to Erica, Erica is getting all hot and bothered asking Leah to explain what her dad did to her. Now that's just effed up on every level.

Let me say this again....I know this book is supposed to be on a "taboo" subject. This, to me, is not "taboo". It's straight up wrong and disgusting. It might have been different if it was written better for this. They pronounce all about love and how much they mean to each other. There is no love here. None. It's all lust anf f***ing. They didn't :make love once. They just f***. That's not love. Seriously.

ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT!!!
I guess April and I read the tame version of this book. I didn't know there were so many damn different copies of this book.

The original supposedly got banned from Amazon (with good reason in my opinion). I'm only sharing this spoiler because I cannot recommend this book to anybody. I am actually quite surprised at how many good reviews there are on Goodreads and Amazon. Very surprised. I guess there are more warped people than I originally thought in the world.

In the original, not only does Mr. Nolan sleep with Leah, but Erica (his actual daughter) joins in. And they ALL enjoy it. How freaking gross. Then to top it off, at the end, Mr. Nolan finds out that Leah is his as well. So very twisted and I just can't get a grasp on it.

I really am disappointed in this book. It was done distastefully and had me wanting to throw up quite a few times.

I wish I would've done my research a bit more before picking this up. At the time I got it, it was free. I wouldn't even pay 99 cents for this dribble.

Here are is another review I wish I would've read first before starting this:

Once again, I do not recommend this book to anyone. Some things you just can't unread.

  1. I can't believe you read this. This one was recommended to me a long time ago and I haven't had the nerve to read it. I've read some of Kitt's other books though. Intense.
