No Attachments by Tiffany King Release Day Launch Review & Giveaway

Welcome to the No Attachments by Tiffany King Release Day launch!!!
I'm very excited to talk about this book because I adored it!!!
Here is some info on the book:

Synopsis:
Ashton Garrison walked away from a privileged life in order to hide from the one thing she's not willing to face. She knows she left behind a trail of pain, but in the long run, her betrayal will hurt less than the truth. She now has one goal: Live life to the fullest with no regrets and no attachments. She has high hopes that a move to new surroundings will provide the escape she desires, but what Ashton doesn't count on is how fate always seems to find a way to screw up any good plan. Sometimes, when love comes knocking, the pull is too strong not to answer. Suddenly, what she thought she wanted to escape from is what Ashton now wants more than anything.
Love can come when you least expect it. The question is: If the odds are stacked against you, how far are you willing to go for the one you love?
Nathan Lockton has one mission: find his target and complete the task he was hired to do—no attachments and no emotion necessary. He's done it over and over again. What he thought was a typical lost-and-found job has turned into a life examining moment as Nathan is forced to deal with something he has always ignored--his feelings. Now faced with a decision, Nathan must choose to either follow his heart or complete the job.

What did I think?
I'm already a fan of Tiffany King's books. She has a beautiful way of writing and she writes stories that are so full of emotion.

This one is no different. I went into this book expecting to find a cute love story with a happy ending. What I didn't expect was to read this in one sitting and cry. LOL Tiffany does that to a person.

Don't get me wrong, this is a cute love story. But there is plenty of heartache and angst added to the mix. That's what I love about Tiffany's books. Her stories have depth and meaning to them.

I'll start off by saying I adored Ash and Nathan to the core. Ash is such a strong girl and yet very vulnerable. I loved the way that King kept you in the dark the whole time trying to figure out what she was really running from. Ash was such an adorable person and I would have loved to meet her in person.

Now, Nathan. Oh my where do I start? Nathan is the perfect man to have. Hot, deep voice and so incredibly comforting. I wanted to bottle him up and take him home. Seriously. Every girl needs a man like him.

As I mentioned before, I read this in a single sitting. Yes, it was an easy read but that's not why I read it in one sitting. This book had me addicted to it. I could not stop. I didn't want to stop. The book was engaging and written beautifully.

Laura Drake is an author. She writes bestselling paranormal romances that continue to top the charts. She is sharp. She is confident. She is in control. And she doesn’t exist. Samantha Jansen is the woman behind the wig, the woman most of the world doesn’t know exists. She is shy. She is insecure. She is nothing like her main character or her alter ego. She is scarred—deeply scarred—by a past she can’t let go of and a present she can’t make peace with. Samantha’s dreams are consumed by one man, the broken hero from her books. Mason Strait is both her wildest fantasy and her most terrifying nightmare. When Samantha meets Alec Brand, a corporate consultant, it is as though Mason has come to life. Alec is handsome to a fault, as elegant as he is arrogant, and more intense than any man has a right to be. Samantha is soon sucked into a world that mirrors the fiction she writes. Just like her main character, Daire Kirby, Samantha finds herself unable to resist the forbidden lure of Alec. And just like Daire, she also finds that she is faced with taking a chance on a man who could either set her free or destroy her. The scale tilts toward destruction when Samantha finds out that Alec is as much a work of fiction as Mason. And he has scars of his own, scars that could ruin them both.

Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase Release Day Launch & Giveaway

Welcome to my stop for the Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase. I am very excited to take part of this release day launch.
Blurb:
Samantha Rousseau is used to getting her hands dirty. Working toward a master’s degree in wildlife biology while helping take care of her sick father, she has no time for celebrity gossip, designer clothes, or lazy vacations. So when a duchess from the small country of Lilaria invites her to dinner, Samantha assumes it’s to discuss a donation for the program. The truth will change the course of her life in ways she never dreamed.
Alex D’Lynsal is trying to keep his name clean. As crown prince of Lilaria, he’s had his share of scandalous headlines, but the latest pictures have sent him packing to America and forced him to swear off women—especially women in the public eye. That is, until he meets Samantha Rousseau. She’s stubborn, feisty, and incredibly sexy. Not to mention heiress to an estate in his country, which makes her everyone’s front-page news.
While Sam tries to navigate the new world of politics and wealth, she will also have to dodge her growing feelings for Alex. Giving in to them means more than just falling in love; it would mean accepting the weight of an entire country on her shoulders.
What did I think?
I was so interested in reading this book. I thought it would be such a cute love story and a quick read. What I wasn't expecting was the emotional deepness that came with it.

On the outside, this is like The Princess Diaries but the adult version. LOL It sort of was but so much more.
I loved Samantha's character from the get go. She knew what she wanted, she took care of her own and didn't take any crap from anybody. She was truly someone to really look up to.

Alex...Sa-woon. He was very drool worthy and so very understanding. I love, love LOVED him. He has to be one of my favorite male characters to date. He has a great heart and he didn't mind showing how he truly felt.

When Samantha and Alex first meet, you know there are sparks and I adore the fact that Samantha was so shy and unused to having the attention of a man. Their interactions had me chuckling quite a bit.

In this book, Samantha gets the shocker of her life when she learns she is royalty from a different country. How does someone really respond to that? I'd flip out. LOL But Samantha handles it pretty well considering everything she has to go through.

Some parts did remind me of the movie The Princess Diaries. Only because it is the same kind of concept, but, I reiterate that this has a story of it's own that sets it apart. This is more mature and the emotional content was fantastic.

All throughout this transformation that Sam goes through, she has other things that weigh on her mind. She has her father, her friends, and her job.

I feel that Nichole did an amazing job writing this and is a great story teller. Everything that I look for in a book was there. To the biggest extent. I loved the romance, the heartbreak and the humor. I thoroughly enjoyed this book to the fullest and I will recommend this to anyone who loves a well written romance.

About Nichole:
Nichole Chase is a daydreamer. No, really, just ask any of the math teachers that had the misfortune of seeing her name appear on their class schedule.
For years she has had story lines and characters begging for attention, but she resolutely pushed them aside to focus on more normal (read, boring) jobs.

Well, no longer! She is currently heeding the voices in her head and frantically writing their stories. Ms. Chase is the author of the Dark Betrayal Trilogy, Flukes, and Suddenly Royal (including several short stories).

Nichole resides in South Georgia with her husband, energetic daughter, dog, tortoise, and two cats. When not devouring novels by the dozens, you may find her writing, painting, crafting, or chasing her daughter around the house while making monster noises.

(I may need more information from you for the next round. If I can’t get in touch with you, I may have to move on to one of the other stories.)

Let’s get started! We’ll be accepting entries until 11:59pm on Saturday, April 27th. KP Simmon of InkSlinger PR and I will be choosing the top 5 stories on Sunday and posting the open voting on Tuesday, April 30th. The Boys of Summer by C.J. Duggan Book Blast

Welcome to my stop on The Boys of Summer by C.J. Duggan Book Blast!!!
I have an excerpt for you that I loved!!! But first here is some info on the book and lovely author:
Blurb:It seemed only natural to nickname them the ‘Onslow Boys’. Every time they swaggered in the front door of the Onslow Hotel after a hard week’s work, their laughter was loud and genuine as they settled onto their bar stools. I peeked through the restaurant partition, a flimsy divider between my world and theirs. I couldn’t help but smile whenever I saw them, saw him ... Toby Morrison.Quiet seventeen-year-old Tess doesn’t relish the thought of a summertime job. She wants nothing more than to forget the past haunts of high school and have fun with her best friends before the dreaded Year Twelve begins. To Tess, summer is when everything happens: riding bikes down to the lake, watching the fireworks at the Onslow Show and water bomb fights at the sweltering Sunday markets. How did she let her friends talk her into working? After first-shift disasters, rude, wealthy tourists and a taunting ex-boyfriend, Tess is convinced nothing good can come of working her summer away. However, Tess finds unlikely allies in a group of locals dubbed ‘The Onslow Boys’, who are old enough to drive cars, drink beer and not worry about curfews. Tess’s summer of working expands her world with a series of first times with new friends, forbidden love and heartbreaking chaos. All with the one boy she has never been able to forget. It will be a summer she will always remember.
Warning: sexual references, and occasional coarse language

And now for the excerpt (Yum):
“Don’t you dare.” I grabbed his arm, pulling him backwards. His eyes darted to where my hand rested on him. I didn’t move my hand, I couldn’t physically bring myself to break the contact; all of a sudden there were no smiles, no jokes, just him and me and our space on the couch. I could only hear the music and be aware of the heat of his skin and the rapid rise and fall of my chest in this moment.
The only thing that snapped me out of my daze was Toby’s words which seemed low and raspy.
“Is Adam your boyfriend?” His gaze flicked over my face as he waited for my answer. My mouth gaped open; I couldn’t hide the fact I was dumbfounded by the question.
I blinked quickly and took my hand from his arm. I struggled to construct a legible sentence.
“Oh – um, no, we’re just friends, it’s not like that.”
His stony expression didn’t falter, didn’t reveal any kind of emotion. He was so hard to read, and I wanted to read him so badly. He gave a small nod and handed me the CD cover.
“Better go and make sure these guys aren’t cheating.” And without another word, he got up and headed towards the pool table.

Excerpt:

When I opened my eyes again, I thought I saw a strange face in the crowd. Just for a moment, a thin, pale, and angry looking male face appeared amongst us. I pulled back to look more closely, but where I thought I had seen something, I now saw nothing. Shadows of dancing couples moved across the walls, but amongst the shadows I saw more figures than were actually in the room. Frantically, I looked around at the dancing couples but saw nothing unusual. All around me were the same faces I had seen over the last five months. Again, I looked at the shadows on the wall. Fast, shadowy images intermixed with those of the townspeople. I turned and saw another face, a female, who I did not know amongst the crowd. She was similar in appearance to the man. I strained to get a better look, but she disappeared. I stepped back from Jamie and pulled my gun from its holster.“What is it?” Jamie whispered in alarm.I looked around the room, a gun in one hand, the other on the hilt of my sword. A second later, the wind blew the door open again. At that same moment, the generator failed. The lights dimmed with a fading buzz leaving only candle-light. Cold wind gusted through the place, blowing out the candles nearest the door. I left Jamie’s side. Grabbing a flashlight, I stood in the doorway and flashed the light on the parking lot outside.Overhead, the moon was full. It cast long shadows. The bare trees made claw-like images on the snowy ground. I pulled my coat off the wall and went outside, Jamie following fast behind me.I snapped the flashlight off and pulled out my sword. I stood still, my eyes adjusting to the moonlight. I scanned the horizon. Nothing.“What is it?” Jamie whispered.I looked back. Several people stood in the gymnasium door looking out.I said nothing but walked to the small slope at the side of the school. From there I could see much of the town and the frozen lake below. Jamie walked wordlessly beside me.I stood on the hill overlooking the town below and scanned the vista.A second later, I saw it—them--something.“There,” I whispered to Jamie. I pointed my sword in the direction of the lake where strange shadowy images appeared to flee across the frozen ice. “Do you see that?” I asked him.He was silent.I watched the shadows retreat until I saw nothing more.“Did you see that?” I asked him again, thinking maybe Grandma Petrovich’s mushrooms had made me go half-crazy.I looked up at the still-silent Jamie. The startled look on his face told me he had seen it too.“Layla--” he began.“I know.”“What was it?” he asked.I shook my head.“Well, what did you see?”Indeed, what did I see? I was not exactly certain, but when I looked up at Jamie one answer came clearly to mind: “Danger.”
