Face The Music Blog Tour & Giveaway

Welcome to Hackaroo's stop on the Face The Music blog tour hosted by IMR Blog Tours!!! My stop consists of a review and giveaway!
But first, here is a bit about the book:

Goodreads Description:
After losing her mother in a tragic accident, Allison Banks takes on the sole responsibility of caring for her little sister, her young niece, and her disabled grandmother. When her long-term boyfriend walks out, offering little in the way of explanation, Allison is left totally confused and utterly heartbroken. To cope, the 24-year-old closes herself off to any serious relationships and dives into her work as a graduate student.
Needing the extra income, Allison takes a job for the hot, new, reality TV show, Superstardom. Captivated by the competition’s front-runner, the mysterious and sexy singer, Chris Knots, Allison dismisses her attraction as nothing more than a silly, school-girl crush. But, when the hunky performer reveals an interest of his own, Allison must work through her reservations and decide if there’s room in her life for something more.
What did I think?
I love books about musicians. Seriously. If you followed my blog back when I was on wordpress, you would know that already. I adore musicians.....that's why I married one ha! ;-)
When I saw the synopsis of this story, I thought it would be a really cute story. And I was right. I enjoyed the story and the characters.
Allison was really sweet and I was glad to see her find her way. I loved the fact that she was so shy and flustered at first and I found her highly endearing.
I thought that Chris Knots was a generally sweet guy. Like, one of the most sweetest characters I've ever read about. He had a good heart and a quick smile. I thought he was a great addition to the story.
Allison and Chris's connection was instant and both of them knew it. Well, Allison wasn't sure at first, but of course you have to make the guy work for it!! ;-)
Allison and her younger sister have gone through some tough times but they've stuck together through it all. I felt Allison's pain and her loss. Robbins did a good job conveying her hurt and pain. It really came through the pages.
Overall I really enjoyed the story. I read it in one day so it was an easy, quick read. My only qualm was that I'm not a big fan of American Idol and this was highly based on the show.
Favorite Quote:
I shook my head. "Not a chance.Tomorrow night is way too important. I've already distracted you enough." He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me against him. When he spoke, his lips were only inches from mine. "You don't distract me. You inspire me."
